Sometimes you just know certain days are going to be extra special!

I didn’t get the opportunity to meet Jessica and Cory before their wedding day. Like many of my couples, they were planning their wedding from a far. Jessica and I exchanged numerous emails and telephone calls before the wedding. I knew from the first time we spoke on the phone Jessica and Cory had a special relationship. Photography was an important part of Jessica’s wedding planning. After three wedding dates, Jessica set a date around my availability. It is an honor I don’t take lightly.

Jessica and Cory celebrated an intimate wedding and reception in Detroit Lakes. Everyone in their family and wedding party were so kind and welcoming. At four out of five of my last weddings, I have been chased by weather. Jessica had a very special image with a canoe she requested. On our first attempt, we literally attempted to out run a fierce storm to get the shot. We didn’t make it. It was It was a little to close to the scene out of the Wizard of Oz for my liking. Right before sunset the sky cleared for a brief moment between weather systems. I have never seen such teamwork from a group of people to help get the “canoe” image. In the end, fate was on our side. Jessica and Cory you are amazing!
