I feel so blessed to travel all over the upper Midwest and beyond creating for wonderful couples. This year, I will travel overnight to over seventy-five percent of my weddings. At the same time, I absolutely love photographing in the Lakes Area. It is easy to take for granted the beauty where one lives. I would welcome all my commissions from Nisswa and Brainerd areas. I live in an amazing community.

Anna and Brian marked my first non-destination wedding of the year. Well, it was a destination for them and their families, but I got to go home and sleep in my own bed after all was said and done. I couldn’t think of a more wonderful couple to work with for my first “Up-North” wedding. Anna and Brian were so easy going and trusting. Wherever I wanted to create, they were game. I never saw Anna’s smile leave her face the entire wedding day.

My entire month of June was filled with beautiful, intimate ceremonies. The average guest list was around fifty people for the five couples I created for. While Michelle and Dan’s wedding was the largest celebration in terms of guests and had slightly more traditional elements one would expect to see at a wedding, their entire day had a very intimate, personal feel. This is much to do with Michelle and Dan’s warm and welcoming personalities. It is obvious they have many special people in their lives.

I have been chased by weather the entire month of June! I am getting to the point where I dread looking at the weather forecast. I accidentally opened my weather bug on my computer this morning to see:

Luckily, the forecast has been changing almost daily. All things considered, I have dodged more weather than not.

It isn’t the weather though that makes a wedding. In everyone’s life, we encounter a little rain. Most important is how we deal with the rain when it comes. With Amber and Zack’s sense of adventure, humor and love for each other, I would welcome the opportunity to create with them in any weather.

It has been too long since I have created a post with tons of images. I couldn’t think of a better wedding to debut the kick-off of my 2010 season. Cate and John are quite simply two of the kindest people I have been fortunate to photograph. They have character. Not just the type of character that defines a good friend, but personalities that are contagious to be around.

Their wedding day was perfect!
